The Top 5 Reasons Why Women Take Karate
1. Improve your self-confidence
During each martial arts class, you will experience the joy of setting and attaining goals on a daily basis! The success you experience in our program will teach you that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Karate also leads to improved confidence for a more successful work life, a better circle of friends — and increased self-esteem.
2. Learn Self Defense
Kicks Unlimited teaches two types of self defense. First, you will learn how to use your arms and legs to generate an amazing amount of power. Learning how to properly utilize your strength, agility and power is a key component of our self-defense program. Next, you’ll also learn a great deal about preventative self defense. Through our program you will become more aware of your surroundings and will also learn how to carry yourself, and appear less like an easy target.
3. Improve Your Strength, Balance & Coordination
Much of the work done in our karate classes focuses on developing core body strength through stance-work and balance drills. You will learn to put together movements in the most effective manner. Not the most coordinated person? That’s okay! Most of our students are NOT athletes and come to our martial arts school with very little athletic experience. Kicks Unlimited specializes in working with first-time karate students, and has a program designed for new students that will gradually build your balance and coordination.
4. Increase Your Metabolism
You can burn up to 800 calories in one of our karate classes! Not only will you burn calories, but karate will also help you tone your arms, legs, abs and back. The positive side effect of this training results in a higher metabolism, which means your body will burn more calories naturally 24-7!
5. Workout in a Fun, Safe & Educational Environment
When it comes to fitness and exercise, some people like working out and others don’t. The feedback we get about our martial arts program is that it’s FUN, and often doesn’t feel like “exercise!” Because our curriculum increases in scope gradually throughout each belt level, you will always be challenged with new and exciting elements to your karate curriculum. Many of our students have been practicing karate 2, 3, even 5 years.
