Owner, Founder & martial arts Instructor
Mr. Huett has been practicing martial arts for over 27 years and teaching for 20 years. In addition to being a 5th Degree black belt in American Tae Kwon Do, he also holds a 2nd degree black belt in Kobudo (ancient Okinawan martial art utilizing farming tools as weapons).
Mr. Huett started his training at the YMCA in 1986 after his mom enrolled him to help him develop confidence and self-defense skills. He was one of the smallest kids at school and his mom was concerned that he would be an easy target for bullies. Mr. Huett fell in love with the martial arts and eventually utilized his skills in Hollywood as a stuntman, working with the ‘Power Rangers’ stunt team on the TV show and live tour. Teaching was always a first love for Mr. Huett, and in 2002 he moved back to Madison, WI, to open the first Kicks Unlimited karate school in Fitchburg.
One of Mr. Huett’s favorite parts of the martial arts is the family component. In 2004, after years of prodding his mom (Sharron) to ‘try a class,’ she finally gave in and stepped onto the mats. Sharron earned her black belt in 2007 at the age of 62.
When he’s not teaching, Mr. Huett can be found spending time with his wife and child, his parents, or reading a good book (often about the martial arts) at Starbucks.
“There is something so rewarding about seeing a student develop mentally and physically through learning the martial arts. I’m blessed to have a job that allows me to have this kind of impact on students and even more blessed to have a team around me that believes in this vision. We truly want to provide you with an experience in the martial arts that will leave you with great memories, and skills, for a lifetime!”
